Your privacy is of utmost importance to us. TapCard is built on core principles of transparency and security:
- We do not collect any personal information, device identifiers, or usage statistics.
- We do not track your activity, window contents, or user interactions.
- We do not transmit any data to external or remote servers.
- We do not include any third-party tracking, analytics, or advertising SDKs.
Application Operation Mode
TapCard (hereinafter referred to as "the App") is an offline utility designed exclusively for macOS. The App operates in background Accessory Mode, residing discreetly in your macOS menu bar without taking up space on your Dock.
System Permissions & Data Handling
To provide window preview thumbnails and fluid foreground switching, the App requests the following system permissions. All operations are strictly executed in local memory and are never exposed externally:
- Screen Recording (ScreenCaptureKit): Used exclusively to invoke Apple's modern ScreenCaptureKit framework to capture real-time visual preview thumbnails of open application windows. These thumbnails exist transiently in volatile system memory solely for UI display; they are never persisted to disk and never transmitted across the network.
- Accessibility: Used solely to raise and activate the selected application window to the foreground when you click on its card in the strip.
All permissions are exercised strictly within Apple's App Sandbox environment and follow standard Apple security practices.
Local Data Storage
The App stores minimal preference data locally on your Mac:
- User Preferences: Settings such as launch at login, including minimized windows, and filtering to the current display are saved locally via standard macOS UserDefaults.
Accessed System APIs (Apple Privacy Manifest)
In accordance with Apple's Privacy Manifest guidelines, the App declares access to the following system API:
- UserDefaults API: Used to persist user configuration and settings locally on your Mac (Reason Code CA92.1).
Third-Party Services
TapCard does not integrate any third-party tracking, analytics (such as Google Analytics or Firebase), advertising, or social media libraries. We do not sell or share any user data with third parties.
Network Communication
TapCard operates completely offline. The App does not initiate any HTTP/HTTPS network connections or remote communications throughout its lifecycle.
Children's Privacy Protection
The App does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Because zero data is collected, we fully comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and international privacy laws.
Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product enhancements or regulatory changes. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Any significant changes will be highlighted in App Store release notes.
